Africa Trade Desk is proud to announce a partnership with TradeSmart Consult Ltd focused on boosting women’s entrepreneurship on the African continent.
The rate of women’s entrepreneurship in sub-Saharan Africa is the highest in the world yet many women-owned and women-operated businesses have difficulty accessing services, attracting investment, internationalizing their businesses, and being taken seriously by the business community, both domestically and internationally. As women-owned businesses, TradeSmart Consult Ltd and Africa Trade Desk have personal experience as well as professional experience that we will use to support other women-owned businesses to grow. Both have large portfolios of women-owned businesses as their clients. In March 2024, Africa Trade Desk is hosting its East Africa Intra-Regional Expo in Nairobi, Kenya. The African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) – the world’s largest new free trade area since the establishment of the WTO – encompasses 1.3 billion people, with a combined GDP valued at $3.4 trillion USD.
