Background
Edith Orego is a passionate and adaptive business administrator, currently serving as the Executive Assistant to the Founder/Executive Director of TradeSmart Consult Ltd, a Pan African consultancy specializing in innovative solutions across trade policy, facilitation, regional integration, gender equality, and private sector development. With a diverse background in the private and public sectors in Kenya and the UK, Edith brings a unique blend of skills and experiences to TradeSmart Consult’s transformative initiatives.
In her current role as Executive Assistant, Edith serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Founder/Executive Director. She orchestrates seamless logistics for meetings and events and her proficiency in communication, tech-savvy approach, and analytical skills underscore her pivotal role in ensuring an improved workflow for the Director and the team at TradeSmart Consult Ltd.
Edith also currently plays the vital role of a project lead, managing the FinEquity Africa project which focuses on empowering women through financial inclusion across Africa. Her responsibilities include defining project objectives, collaborating with stakeholders, and driving outreach and membership recruitment initiatives which have successfully ensured more than 500 new registrations, surpassing the target set by the Community of Practice. Her skills in project management and strategic planning are evident in the successful execution of FinEquity Africa workshops and events, from conceptualization, to invitations and follow-ups.
She holds an MBA in International Business from the University of Gloucestershire, a Bachelor of Arts in Business Studies from Cardiff Metropolitan University and a Higher National Diploma in Media Techniques and Video Production from Star Media Institute. An alumna of the C J Atemo School of Leadership (CASOL), Edith is a transformational leader with a knack for honing people’s soft skills, building teams, and raising leaders.
